After arrival in Germany, we had a 4 day orientation program for students in my program. Luckily for me, there are 5 Ghanaians in my class so it helped that I didn't feel alone. Nevertheless, my aim was to be able to mingle with the rest of my classmates and eventually establish friendship with some of them.
When the orientation started, we were all asked to write our names and paste it on our chest, that way it would be easier to introduce ourselves.
I was sitting by all myself (because my Ghanaian friends were late
No one came to me. So I thought to myself, maybe I will just be invisible. I will come to class, not talk to anyone, just do what I have to and leave. Its just so hard to be in a room full of strangers ust by myself.
I just didn't understand why no one had come to me.
Then a random girl smiled at me. Quickly I went over to her table, She complimented on my hair. And then her other friend joined in. They were 2 girls from Vietnam. After introducing ourselves and making small talks and jokes, I went over to next group. A girl from Turkey and a girl from Ukraine. They were all very nice.
Then I moved along to lone guy. From Brazil. I came to the realization that it wasn't so difficult talking to people. Everyone was as eager to meet new people. I am now getting used to the names and even accents. Even though we all speak English it is hard for me to understand some of my classmates.
I believe the orientation week built up my networking and socializing skills. I still have a long way to go
Lol...this is getting interesting. Sometimes I think we have to break the ice first.

Nice, communication is a strong key to understanding. Between I have been mailing you back to back, you haven't replied either of my emails
